Broker's Comments
Here we have a spacious, diesel-powered 27 foot JGM Madeira river cruiser that is fully usable and cruisable and just needs a small amount of work to bring her back to her former glory. She is being sold as a light project as she is in need of some things doing that are predominantly cosmetic. I would estimate her as being 95% there, but fully usable as she is.
Her BSS is valid to July 2022
She seems to be a delightful and nicely running boat that starts on the key and runs smoothly. She benefits from a pump out toilet and is light and bright inside with her spacious layout of a forward vee berth and dinette in an open plan format.
These are popular river cruisers and this one is ready to cruise the Broads (and has been doing so ) as she is. She would make a great first boat and a very light painting project that would get you afloat this season.
She boasts a large cockpit allowing great views out over the Broads and would be delightful on a sunny day with the canopy stowed away. She benefits from large and safe rear access through the open canopy with pushpit rails at the aft corners.
She has a separate basin and vanity unit in the forward sleeping area as well as the galley basin which all have covers in place. the whole interior feels very bright and roomy for her size and would sleep 4 with ease using the dinette infill. she has an open plan layout which gives a good feeling of space. The separate pump-out heads compartment completes the interior space.
The main tasks of note would seem to be a repaint at some point, as the paint is peeling in several places: a canopy zip needs to be replaced; some new cockpit cushion covers are needed as the current items are split. Lastly, the gas system would need to be re plumbed by a registered gas engineer should you want piped gas on the boat. She does have a gas hob installed and some gas lines fitted from her original build, however the gas system has been partly decommissioned at some point in her life and thus will need to be recommissioned should you wish do so. The current owner has been using a portable gas stove on her quite happily, so reinstating the gas system was of no interest to her.
This vessel is sold as a light project to be completed but is fully usable to enjoy the river as she is.
