Broker's Comments
Here we have a traditional Tosher from Falmouth Working Boat Heard stable strongly built in their yard at the head of Mylor Creek off the Fal in Cornwall.
The original plug was taken from the Mevagissey Tosher YoYo built in 1893 and provides a solid pretty day boat for a skipper and up to six crew. The original Tosher was handled by one fisherman and the gaff rig on this one is designed for single handed sailing. With an iron keel and ballast, make this a highly stable day boat ideal for family sailing along with the flexibility of having solid beaching legs she is capable of settling easily and comfortably almost anywhere making her ideal for drying out moorings. whilst she is immensely sea-worthy and stable in a blow. Perhaps light airs are not her forte but then the Volvo diesel helps out and will get you home. She has been substantially rebuilt since acquisition in 2014. Engine out and completely overhauled, aft deck and bulkhead replaced and renewed, new cockpit coaming and new sole boards throughout, new navigation lights etc (Bills are available to support the work carried out). However, the owner is at pains to preserve a certain patina throughout the boat that we consider reflects her working boat heritage.
There is a road trailer which allows the future owner flexibility of where he or she sails as well as ability to bring her home in the winter for storage and maintenance.
These boat details are subject to contract.
