Broker's Comments

Nelson's are famous the world over. Built in the UK, the first designs were timber in the 1960s and, as early innovators using GRP, they became known for their excellent build quality. Although well suited for pleasure cruising they are still found working as pilot boats or police and customs launches - they were absolutely built to go to sea!

The Nelson 42 is an adaptation of the commercially popular Nelson 40 hull, fuller and higher forward sections make for a drier ride and this particular deck layout makes her a great for coastal cruising. Although famed for their seaworthy qualities the relatively narrow beam and low airdraft (with purpose-designed lowering arch) makes her ideal for canal and river cruising too.

On deck she feels extremely safe and secure, there's lots of working space and the large aft deck is ideal for sitting out and enjoying the sun. Below she is clean and fresh and well presented. In typical Nelson style they have made the maximum use of space, an upper and lower saloon, two heads and showers and a well equipped galley lends her well for long term cruising or as a liveaboard.
