Broker's Comments
Mitchell's Yard in Poole are still in existence and have built many boats over the years. Their Parkstone Bay range were popular and the 21' cruiser thought to be one of their best.
There is enough woodwork to give her a classic rather charming look but with a GRP hull the maintenance is seriously cut down. During the refit in 2011 any problem timber was cut out and replaced and she has been under a cover whilst ashore so the varnish has been protected.
The engine is housed in an engine box in the cockpit so is extremely accessible for servicing and replacing any parts. Again she appears to have been very well looked after mechanically and electrically and so hopefully this would now only be routine maintenance.
This is a versatile boat. Enough cabin space for occasional overnighting and certainly enough to comfortably sit, eat and take a break. The Cruiser version has 2 cabin windows each side and an opening forehatch so she has both light and ventilation. The cockpit has bench seating with storage underneath which still leaves enough deck space for fishing. The gunnels are high to keep any little ones safe so pretty much all bases are covered!
