Broker's Comments
The Maxum 2800 SCR Sports Cruiser is really popular and well presented boat benefiting from what I think is a really nice cockpit and saloon layout. I particularly like the cockpit area and the overall look of the boat having a sleek lines and sporty appearance.
This boat is offered for sale by the owner at a greatly reduced price due to engine damage. The owner has reported to us that both engines were checked in 2020 just after the port engine failed, the port engine was diagnosed as having a blown head gasket and a rebuild with a replacement long block was suggested, the cost estimated at that time to the replacement block was £2,000. The Starboard engine was fully operational and last used in 2020 but will need a full service.
Both outdrives were fully rebuilt in 2020 and have only been used for about 6 hours, for reference I had new manifolds installed at the same time, again with just a few hours of use.
She is very beamy and has a spacious interior relative to her size. And she should handle nicely on the water due to the deep V hull too.
This is an ideal boat for a couple or family who want to enjoy time on the water in style but without breaking the bank.
She has obviously stood on the hard standing for a while and the material on the seats in the cockpit area are beginning to show signs of weathering and are in need of a clean.
This boat does require work as detailed, but other than the engine repairs, I think that with some time and elbow grease she could shine like a new penny again. I think that beneath her weathered appearance there is a very nice boat in the offering.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to book a viewing.
Please note:- The cost of any work required would need to be assessed and reviewed by the interested party and subject to a professional marine engineers review and costing of the repair work. The owner will not be responsible for the cost of any ongoing repair work as the boat is sold strictly as seen.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
