Access to the interior of the barge is either from the wheelhouse or from the forward deck.
The wheelhouse has been completely refurbished recently in mahogany. The windows are double-glazed, and the ceiling is insulated.
The former skipper's quarters have been transformed into an independent studio of approximately 25 m², with two cabins: one with a double berth of 140 x 200 cm, and the other with a single berth of 120 x 200 cm. There are independent toilets and a separate shower. The studio includes a microwave and a refrigerator operating on 220 volts. This space is currently rented out on Airbnb for €150 per night. Hot water for the rear cabin is supplied by a 50-litre electric water heater. There is a dedicated terrace on the aft deck for this accommodation, ensuring complete independence for the guests.

Below the wheelhouse, a staircase leads to the main living quarters. To starboard, a first cabin designed as a veranda and used as an office overlooks the main living area. The living room is furnished with leather armchairs and a 25 kW pellet stove that also supplies hot water for underfloor heating. Adjacent to the living area is the dining area with a unique and original table, followed by the kitchen towards the bow. The contemporary kitchen operates entirely on 220 V electricity, featuring a 3-burner induction cooktop, refrigerator with freezer, grill oven, and microwave. The kitchen furniture offers ample storage, as does the interior space along the walkways. The office and living room cover an area of approximately 80 m². Beneath the floor is a vast storage area of about 80 m², housing the hot water tanks for heating and the 320-liter retention tank.

A small staircase from the living room leads to a hallway serving the sleeping quarters. There is an electric toilet with a sink and a 200-liter electric water heater providing hot water for the kitchen and the owner's bedroom. To port, the spacious owner's bedroom features a double bed of 160 x 200 cm, a walk-in shower, a sink, and extensive personal storage space, along with a home theatre system.

An additional guest cabin has a sofa bed of 140 x 180 cm. The current owner considered creating a winter garden here because a glass hatch provides plenty of natural light to the room.

Finally, a leisure area includes a sauna, a shower, and a relaxation corner. The hot water for the shower is supplied by a 50-litre electric water heater. The living quarters' electricity is largely supplied by solar panels (5KW), requiring very little from the grid.

Broker's Comments

Navigable Residential Barge for Sale.
Boatshed Paris is pleased to offer this Freycinet barge for sale, moored in the Champagne - Grand Est region.

This 1949 Freycinet barge has been successfully transformed into a highly unique living space. The materials used are of high quality, and the finishes are particularly well done.

Located close to all amenities with free parking in front of the boat, it is ideal for a family with older children seeking some independence. The former skipper's cabin is separated from the main living area by a lockable door, allowing for an Airbnb rental to help offset the boat's fixed costs.

It is also worth noting that the barge is only 60 minutes by train from Paris, with many people making the commute daily.

Non-contractual information.
Price negotiable.
